A word from the commissioner...

District 2 is primarily urban with approximately 56% of the households within the City of Huntsville, 44% of the households within the City of Madison, and 320 rural households. The current budget for Madison County District 2 is $800,000. This tax money is allocated at the discretion of the District 2 Commissioner with ratification by the entire Madison County Commission. Our emphasis is to assist with infrastructure needs within SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES AND CITY projects through monetary appropriations. We strive to divide the budget allocations evenly between the cities of Huntsville and Madison according to the needs of our citizens. Our main focus is education and the schools within the district. I have allocated approximately $3 million for schools through monetary allocations and in-kind support since I was elected in 1988.
